Online Purchase: Deposit and Purchase Price Payment Terms & Conditions
1. PAYING A DEPOSIT AND/OR THE PURCHASE PRICE FOR YOUR CHOSEN VEHICLE1.1 Choosing your vehicle(s)
1.1.1 You can browse and select your chosen vehicle(s), and each vehicle will have a corresponding Dealer listed next to it that is able to supply the vehicle. Once you have found the vehicle(s) you would like to purchase, you should follow through the online process and pay the required Deposit and/or the Purchase Price (as defined at 1.2.1 below). Once you have completed payment, you will receive an email confirming that your payment has been received, and you will at that stage be able to see details of your vehicle(s) in the “my account” section.
1.1.2 Please note that you are unable to accessorise or add optional extras to your chosen vehicle at this stage. Please contact the Dealer listed to discuss this further.
1.2 Payment of a Deposit and/or full Purchase Price for you chosen vehicle(s)
1.2.1 When you confirm that you wish to purchase a vehicle, you are placing an order with the Dealer to purchase that vehicle (the “Order”) via the Mercedes-Benz UK Limited website. The purchase price for the vehicle(s) is the price stated on the website at the time of your Order (the “Purchase Price”). A deposit fee (value varies and is set by each Dealer) (the “Deposit”) and/or full Purchase Price will be payable directly to the Dealer listed. Once the payment of the Deposit and/or full Purchase Price (as applicable) is received, the vehicle(s) will be withdrawn from the Mercedes-Benz UK Limited website. For the avoidance of doubt, where only a Deposit is paid, the remaining Purchase Price will need to be paid for an Order to be completed. Your selected Dealer’s terms and conditions shall apply to the Order. Mercedes-Benz are not a party to such contract.
1.2.2 The payment of the Deposit can only be used towards the purchase of the chosen vehicle and cannot be used for any finance purchase as finance applications and credit checks apply (please see clause 3 below). Please submit a general enquiry or contact the selected Dealer for more information.
1.3 Payment Method
1.3.1 Payment of the Deposit and/or Purchase Price is accepted by credit card and debit card via PayPal or Opayo or Stripe (as directed by your selected Dealer listed). The processing of these payments will be governed by the third-party provider’s terms and conditions. Payment will be taken using the payment card you put forward and you confirm to us that you are authorised to use the payment card that you provide to make the payment of the Deposit and/or Purchase Price. The Dealer, and/or your card issuer, may carry out security checking to confirm that this is the case.
1.3.2 We will confirm receipt of your payment of the Deposit and/or Purchase Price. Please note that at this stage your Order for your chosen vehicle(s) has been accepted.
1.4 Payment provider charges
1.4.1 We are not responsible for any charges or penalties which may be imposed by the payment provider/card issuer in connection with the Deposit and/or Purchase Price as a result of payment being processed and cannot be held responsible for any processing. We do not accept any liability in relation to the processing of your payment of the Deposit and/or Purchase Price.
1.5 Refund of the Deposit and/or Purchase Price
1.5.1 If you decide to cancel: If you decide that you no longer wish to proceed with the purchase of your chosen vehicle you should contact the Dealer listed against the vehicle, or contact us using the details on the Mercedes-Benz UK Limited website, and the Deposit and/or Purchase Price will be refunded to you.
1.5.2 If the Dealer becomes aware after accepting your Order that it is not possible to proceed with your Order, then the Dealer listed against the vehicle will contact you to confirm and the Deposit and/or Purchase Price will be refunded to you. Some examples of reason why the Dealer may do this include, but are not limited to:
1.5.2.1 your chosen vehicle(s) have already been sold; and
1.5.2.2 there is an error in the price or description of the van.
There may be reasons other than those reasons mentioned above for why your selected Dealer does not accept your Order.
1.5.3 The refund of your Deposit and/or Purchase Price will be made by the Dealer to whom you made the payment and it will be provided via the method and to the card on which you made the original payment.
1.5.4 Please note that the refund of the Deposit and/or Purchase Price by the Dealer may take up to 10 working days. We accept no responsibility for any delay in your refund being processed.
2. AFTER YOU HAVE MADE YOUR DEPOSIT AND/OR PAYMENT
2.1 Once the Deposit and/or Purchase Price has been paid, the vehicle is secured for you to (1) complete your purchase with your dealer in the case of a Deposit or (2) arrange collection or delivery in the case of an outright purchase.
3. FINANCE
3.1 All finance is subject to status, terms and conditions and lending criteria apply. Applicants must be 18 years or above. Guarantees may be required. Finance is provided by Mercedes-Benz Financial Services UK Limited (trading as Mercedes-Benz Finance), Milton Keynes.
4. OFFERS
4.1 Offer Price
• The offer detailed alongside the vehicle is on a specific vehicle only and cannot be transferred to an alternative vehicle.
• The offer displayed is valid on the specific vehicle for the validity period shown or until that specific vehicle is sold to a customer.
• No cash alternative.
• The offer shall be secured by the customer only once the customer purchases the specific vehicle.
• The offer is subject to change by the Dealer and/or Mercedes-Benz UK Limited. Please contact the Dealer and/or Mercedes-Benz UK Limited to discuss this and any other offers which may be available.
WLTP CO2 emissions
The indicated values were determined according to the prescribed measurement method - Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). Figures shown may include options which are not available in the UK. WLTP CO2 values will be effective from 1st April 2020. Additionally [a] For Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) figures determined with battery fully charged. These models require mains electricity for charging. [b] For Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) figures determined with the battery fully charged, using a combination of both battery power and fuel. Figures shown are for comparability purposes; only compare with other cars tested to the same technical procedures. Figures may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including the starting charge of the battery [a][b], factory fitted options, accessories fitted (post registration), variations in weather, driving styles and vehicle load.Further information about the test used to establish fuel consumption and CO₂ figures can be found at www.mercedes-benz.co.uk/WLTP
NEDC CO2 emissions
The indicated values were determined according to the prescribed measurement method. These are the "NEDC CO₂ values" according to Art. 2 No. 1 Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/1153.The figures do not refer to an individual vehicle and are not part of the offer; they are provided solely for the purposes of comparison between different vehicle models. The values vary depending on the chosen optional extras. IMPORTANT: The way a new vehicle’s CO2 is shown is changing due to a change in the law. Customers should check with a Mercedes-Benz Retailer whether their vehicle will be registered before or after 31st March 2020, as this could have a significant impact on the amount of Vehicle Excise Duty (“VED”) and/or Company Car Benefit in Kind taxation (“BIK”) to be paid. Since 1st January 2019, the energy and fuel consumption figures shown were determined by the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (“WLTP”). Whilst all new cars on sale have been type-approved according to WLTP, the figures shown are required by law to be the values from the outgoing New European Drive Cycle (NEDC) test, derived through a set formula from the WLTP values, until April 2020. From April 2020, for newly registered vehicles, the actual CO2 figures from the WLTP test will be published and used for the calculation of VED and BIK. In many cases the WLTP CO2 figure will be higher than the NEDC figure. This is because the new WLTP test is designed to be more stringent and a more accurate reflection of the vehicle’s efficiency and CO2 emissions when on the road.
